Jumbo aircraft A380s likely to fly in Indian skies soon

The Indian skies may soon see the world’s largest commercial aircraft Airbus 380 flying in, as the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has favoured allowing them.
The aviation regulator, after a study conducted by International Air Transport Association (IATA), has concluded that allowing foreign airlines to operate the jumbo aircraft would not distort the Indian market.
“We have taken various city pairs, which are being serviced by Airbus 380s. After analysing the fares in these sectors both pre- and post-operations by Etihad, we have found that fares have not moved in any direction. We have concluded that Airbus 380s entry will not distort the market out of India,” said a DGCA official.
